Sophie MERCIER

Trained in Art History at the University of Provence, I have spent my entire career in the retail sector, in a variety of positions ranging from purchasing and product development to project coordination and team management.

I've decided to retrain for a career in line with my values and interests, as I no longer wish to work in retail. In this respect, I'd prefer, among other things, positions involving antique jewelry, trading, auction rooms, appraisals and stone buying. I don't expect to return to the responsibilities I've had in the past, as I see myself as a learner in this new sector.

As a recent graduate in gemmology (LFG and FEEG), I'm looking for a way to make the most of my new skills, in addition to those acquired throughout my career. In other words, I have skills that a junior may not have, but I'm aware that I'm taking my first steps as a gemmologist.

It's worth noting, however, that I was able to train in gemmology as part of the CQP "Gestion l'activité des gemmes en entreprise" awarded by the Laboratoire Français de Gemmologie. The program was developed in consultation with industry professionals, so as to be able to meet their needs as quickly as possible.

It was my love of antique jewelry and fine jewelry that led me down the path of gemmology, and although today I'm interested in many applications of this discipline, jewelry is still my favourite.

Thank you very much for your interest in my profile. I look forward to discussing your needs and what I can offer you on a permanent or temporary basis.
